Morwellham Village Explorer
Morwellham Quay is part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining World Heritage site, an historic copper ore port, village, copper mine & railway just four miles west of Tavistock and bordering the beautiful River Tamar. In its prime the site was the greatest copper ore port in Queen Victoria’s Empire. Today it is a working museum for visitors to relive its Victorian heyday.
If you are looking for a stimulating and entertaining day out, Morwellham Quay is the place to visit where you can escape the hustle and bustle of 21st century life as you wander through this enchanting village.
You can make your own way around the village taking in the Victorian miners' cottages, cooperage, the blacksmiths and assayer's work places, quayside and village centre. Open daily from 10am to 5pm.

Living History Tour
Enjoy a living history tour with one of our experienced guides to include, dressing up in costume to look like a Victorian lady, gent or child, taking part in a typical lesson in our Victorian schoolroom, rock breaking on the dressing floor and have a tour of the quayside and Ruth's Cottage as seen in the TV series Edwardian Farm. The tour will last approximately 90 minutes.
In addition to your timed tour you can freely see the rest of the village anytime during our opening hours on the day of your visit.
During your visit you can also relax, recharge and refresh in The Ship Inn. Our village shop is also open and stocked with a wide range of gifts including ironwork and pottery made on site.
